Inputs
The launch function combines disruption type, provider severity, estimated delay, lanes affected and source confidence. Closure and flooding start with a higher base than minor works; delay and affected lanes then increase the result.
Current bands
- 80–100: Severe
- 60–79: Major
- 40–59: Moderate
- 20–39: Minor
- 0–19: Low
What the score does not know
A score cannot replace official signs, police instructions or personal judgement. Weather, individual vehicle restrictions, accessibility needs and rapidly changing conditions may not be fully represented.
Tuning
The calculation is deterministic and tested. As official data is connected, weights can be reviewed against observed delay without silently rewriting historical incident records.
